LET FREEDOM RING--AMERICA'S SUMMER CELEBRATION




Celebrating another July 4th and happy to do so I can collaborate with friends on another scrump-dilly-umptious dessert. Praying all of those who are serving in the armed forces stay safe and get back home soon. Appreciate your service. We all pray for your safe keeping.

And for all of those celebrating at home, here's a July 4th cake for you--Raspberry-Blueberry Milky Way Cake. Yes, for all of you Milky Way candy bar lovers out there, this cake is for you. Enjoy!







Raspberry-Blueberry Milky Way Cake

Ingredients

----------------------------------------------------

8 Milky Way bars (regular size)

2 sticks margarine

2 cups sugar

4 eggs

2-1/2 cups plain flour

1 cup buttermilk

1/2 teaspoon soda

2 teaspoons vanilla

1 cup chopped pecans

Instructions

Preheat oven to 325 degrees.

Melt Milky Way bars and 1 stick margarine over low heat. Set aside and keep warm. Cream remaining stick of margarine with 2 cups sugar and eggs one at a time and beat well after each. Add plain flour, buttermilk, soda, and vanilla. Mix well. Fold in milky way mixture and pecans. Bake in bundt pan for one hour or until done.









Ingredients for topping:

3 Milky Way bars

1 stick margarine

1 tablespoon milk

1 teaspoon vanilla

1 cup powdered sugar

raspberries

blueberries

Instructions

-------------------------------------------------------------------

Melt Milky Way bars, margarine, and milk together over low heat.

Add powdered sugar and vanilla. Pour over cake while warm.






Cool cake some before placing raspberries and blueberries.
